Synopsis

Doctor Who Myths and Legends features three fantastic tales - The Time Monster starring Jon Pertwee plus Underworld and The Horns of Nimon starring fan favourite Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor. Beautifully packaged together across three discs, Doctor Who Myths and Legends is available on DVD from 29th March priced at £49.99.

In the first of these stories, The Time Monster, UNIT is called into monitor the initial trials of a device called TOMTIT - the Transmission Of Matter Through Interstitial Time - at the Newton Institute at Wootton. Created by the enigmatic Professor Thascales, TOMTIT's demonstration causes unexpected time anomalies.

At the heart of TOMTIT is an ancient crystal, which the Master hopes to use to gain control over Kronos - a Chronovore which feeds on time itself. But the stone he holds is only part of the sacred crystal of Kronos - the main crystal is hidden...

The Doctor and the Master journey back in time to the lost city of Atlantis, where the battle for the control of Kronos intensifies. But can the Doctor prevent the Time Monster from being unleashed?

Underworld takes us onboard a Minyan space craft, the R1C, commanded by a man named Jackson. Jackson and his crew are on a long quest to recover the Minyan race banks from a ship called the P7E which left their planet centuries ago. The Doctor helps to free the R1C after it becomes buried in a meteorite storm, but then it crashes into another newly-formed planet.

Inside the planet is a system of caves at the heart of which is the P7E. The P7E's computer, the Oracle, was programmed to protect the race banks but subsequently went insane and - with the aid of its robotic servants, the Seers - imposed its rule upon the Minyan survivors and their descendants. It allows Jackson to take what appear to be the race banks, but they are actually imitations containing fission grenades. Will the Doctor realise the deception and save the day?

In The Horns Of Nimon journey to the great maze of the Power Complex where the dreaded Nimon dwells, a fearsome monster with immense scientific powers. The Nimon has promised to restore the Skonnan Empire to its former glory, but first it demands sacrifice - youths and maidens from the peaceful planet Aneth.

The TARDIS collides with the space ship delivering the victims, and the captured Romana is condemned to be sacrificed to the Nimon. Aided by the faithful K-9, the Doctor goes to the rescue.

This superb collection also stars Laila Ward as Romana, Louise Jameson as Leela and Katy Manning as Jo Grant.
